Building Up the Body

The BIG Idea: Together, the body of Christ is built up to look like Christ.

Christ provides all his church needs. (7-10)

Jesus gives grace to each member of the church for the church (7).

Jesus provides all things for His church (8-10).

Jesus is the source of ALL BVBC needs to be His church.

Christ wants His church to grow up. (11-14)

Learning and becoming like Christ (11), serving Christ and His body (12a), seeking

the good of the body of Christ (12b), glorifying Christ (13), enduring for Christ (14).

Christ’s objective for BVBC is Christlikeness.

The church is growing up when members are… (15-16)

…speaking the truth in love (15).

…doing their part. (16).

Membership in BVBC (and any other church) brings responsibility.
